The Sling TV Login Account Offers 50+ Live Channels For Free

News Times Link: The Sling TV service is launching “Happy Hour Across America” to provide free television to Americans stuck at home during the coronavirus crisis. The free TV will be available every night from 5 p.m. to midnight local time starting on Tuesday. The offer is available to new Sling TV Login Account subscribers who sign up through the company’s website using an email address. The company did not give a timeframe for the offer other than to say it is a “limited time” deal.
It gives Sling TV customers an opportunity to watch seven hours of free live TV each day on the Sling Blue service (normally $30 per month), which offers more than 50 channels, including A&E, Bravo, E!, CNN, Fox News, FX, HGTV, HLN, MSNBC and TLC. The service offers over 50,000 titles on-demand and free cloud DVR, with the ability to watch simultaneously on up to three screens.
A free two-week promo by Sling TV wend its way to a “Happy Hour” promotion after a seven-day free trial ended on March 26. In order for Sling TV to be a success, the company hopes to convert some of the free trial users into paying subscribers.
The launch of COVID-19 prompted an increase in viewership of TV news of 164%, according to Sling. However, around 6 p.m. local time, viewers begin to switch to entertainment. Warren Schlichting, group president of Sling TV, said in a statement that since Sling TV cannot serve you a drink or hot wings, the company is introducing a new kind of happy hour: free TV every night.
Satellite customers have been steadily losing base over the past several years. While Sling’s OTT product is intended to offset this, in Q4 the company shed 94,000 subscribers, taking the total to 2.6 million. Dish said this week that it is expecting layoffs as a result of the current economic climate, but did not disclose how many employees will lose their jobs.
